Paper Clips (USA, 2004, 82 min., English, German with subtitles) Directed by Joe Fab and Elliot Berlin Whitwell, Tennessee (population 2,000) is almost entirely white and Christian. In 1998 Linda Hooper, principal of the town's only middle school, decides she must do something to open her students' eyes to the diversity of the world. She encourages a pair of teachers to offer a class on the Holocaust. In their struggle to comprehend the unfathomable, the students challenge themselves to collect six million paper clips - one for each murdered Jew. This inspiring documentary tells the remarkable story of what happened to change the students, their teachers, their families and the entire town.
