The Maine Jewish Film Festival’s (MJFF) modest beginnings started in 1998 in the South Portland Congregation Bet Ha'am with six videos shown on a television set. Since then we have presented more than 200 films to nearly 20,000 people in venues throughout greater Portland as well in selected sites throughout the state. Each March, MJFF presents a nine-day program of approximately 20 films from around the world to an audience of men, women and children of all ages and backgrounds who are both Jewish and non-Jewish. MJFF is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide a forum for the presentation of films to enrich, educate and entertain a diverse community about the Jewish experience.
